About Us

As a local builder and developer, the Meyer family has been proudly serving the greater Kankakee area since the early 1920s. The company was founded by Isadore Meyer during the Great Depression. Isadore built many homes throughout the county until the late 1970s. In 2008, brothers Adam and Joe Meyer reopened their grandfather’s business. With a combined construction and management background of over 35 years, the company was a success from the start. In 2009, Meyer Development realized a record breaking year, and was involved in many downtown projects, including:

• Renovating the old Blankenberg Building
• Starting a campaign to renovate the historic Majestic Theatre
• Adding 1500 sq. ft. of office space to Love’s Bookstore
• Designing and building the Majestic Towne Mall
• Raising funds to help rebuild the Majestic Marquee
